How we treat each other matters. How people feel when they walk away from us, not only determines whether or not we get the job or grow our business, it defines the kind of advocate we are. Effective communication, relationship building, emotional intelligence competence, these are all essential to our work as legal professionals. Yet, with so much emphasis placed on legal scholarship, billable hours and navigating the adversarial system, little time is spent on the human element of the practice and the values we’d like to prioritize.
What does lawyering with emotional intelligence look like? Better outcomes. More business. Engaged employees. Happy clients. Enjoyment at work…. It looks like fewer complaints to LawPRO and the Law Society. In the list of grievances made to the Law Society, "Service" and "Integrity" issues top the list at over 80% of complaints reported. And we’ve all heard the bad-lawyer jokes out there. There is a disconnect between our intentions and what we are practicing. Emotional intelligence is the bridge back.

About me.
I have an unbridled passion for people.
This passion has manifested in various pursuits in: psychology, communication, law, theatre/film, violence prevention, emotional intelligence, social justice and equity work. My education and experiences is as extensive as it is diverse and this gives me a unique approach to the work I do and services I offer.
I have had the privilege of being a public educator and facilitator for over 15 years and have done so in both official languages. I have taught people of all ages from all walks of life. Whether I’m addressing large groups in isolated communities, a kindergarten class, or top tier firms, I tackle difficult concepts in an accessible and professional way. I pride myself in teaching generously, without judgement, while creating safe and fun environments that facilitate growth and change.
A former lawyer myself, I understand the demands of the profession and the complexities of the work and relationships involved.
Through this work, I hope to inspire a kinder, more empowering justice system through communication, collaboration and compassion.
I can’t wait to work with you. Let’s do this.
